We are planing to use this mux in the design. The inputs are current limited via inline resistors against overvoltages. I'd like to confirm two things about datasheet spec:
1. There are clamp diode from each input to the VDD and VSS internal to the mux (datasheet implies that)
2. To protect against input over voltages, the mux does not need external clamp diodes if internal ones perform the same function as long as current is limited (via resistor). In other words, the input clamp diodes inside the IC are designed to handle the clamp current specified in the datasheet indefinitely.
Thank you for your help
Apologies for the delayed response here.
Have you looked at our fault protection Switches & Multiplexers?
If you give me details of your application I can help you pick the correct Mux
