ADG5248F HBM ESD

Hi

Regarding ADI web, ADG5248F's HBM ESD is 3.5kV on the link. But we couldn't see the spec on the datasheet. Would 3.5kV be correct spec ?

    Hi Hiroyuki,

Apologies for they delayed response. I was out of the office last week.

"My understand what Figure 52 in ADG5248F datasheet means is that ESD protection on Sx pin withstand ESD up to 3.5kV and the diode located between D/Dx pin and POSV or NEGV withstand up to +-55V. Would it be correct ?"

This is correct however I would point out that this is HBM ESD.

What ESD standard are you trying to protect against? If it is system level ESD you should take a look at our application note AN-1436.

This application note details testing we have done with the ADG5412F and a discrete TVS and Resistor to achieve ESD protection to the IEC61000-4-2 standard.

However I have to note that the ADG5248F was not tested and would likely need larger resistance after the TVCS butt the same principle should apply.

The ADG1408 is rated for2kV HBM ESD.

    Thanks

    David
