ADG1213 max digital IN voltage at power down

Question

Hi, what voltage is save to apply to the digital in selector pins on the ADG1213 when it is not powered up? The data sheet references max IN voltage to VDD, i.e. for power down this would give max V = 0 + 0.3 = 0.3V? While the data sheet mentions protection diodes (to not exceed 30mA), I'm not sure when these will kick in. Using an ADG1234 in the past, I never noticed an issue applying V_hi=3V @IN when powered down, but in a current layout using the ADG1213 it looks like it causes issues.

Hi, 
 You are correct the max IN voltage we would recommend during power down is 0.3 V. This is due to the protection diodes on the input. 
 You could have a look at the ADG5413F , this device has power off protection on the source pins and the digital inputs. However I do not know the details of your application so you would have to decide on the suitability of the ADG5413F. 
 Can you share more details of your application? 
 Alternatively depending on the issues you are seeing when applying the digital voltage during power down, you could look to employ some of the protection techniques described in the following article
