• on/off time of ADRF5730 vs. HMC939ALP4E



    With past experience, GaAs parts’ switching speeds tend to increase by 100 to 200 ns at high temp. 


    For Silicon based parts, does the switching speed increase similarly as with GaAs parts?

    I would like to double check that the RF ports of HMC939ALP4E (RF1 & RF2) can be used in both directions. Can we get same performance when we use the pins in both direction?

    We are planning to use ADRF5731 and HMC939ALP4E. In the datasheet, RF amplitude settling time for 0.5 dB (50% triggered ctl to 0.5 dB of final RF output) is not mentioned. Can I get this data ?

    customer is reviewing the HMC941ALP4E and HMC939ALP4E.

    1. Vdd +3.3V will be applied. is it possable?

    2. if +3.3V Vdd is applied,  is there any change in RF performance?

    3. Do you have a Min Vdd value?

    You need a PLL which drives a frequency doubler which drives an amplifier. Possible choices might be ADF4371 (PLL),  HMC1105 (frequency doubler) and HMC7229 (amplifier). These are not the only choices.
