I have a question about protecting the inputs of an unpowered ADG5436. The document

I use the ADG5436 in an application where it can happen that signals are applied to the analog inputs to the unpowered switch.
I want to ask if external schottky diodes to the supplies are recommended in such an application to protect the internal clamping…

In ADG5436 what if D pin get shorted with ground? Will it permanently damage the IC or it will recover when short removed from output pin D of the IC.
Also how much maximum current it will allow to pass from S to D side when shorted to ground.

The ADG5436 is a pin-for-pin replacement of the ADG1436. However, it's not a spec-for-spec replacement so you'd need to make sure that the ADG5436 performance is good enough for your application.
