• Can the outputs of the Laser Driver AD9665 be put in parallel?

    The output current of the laser driver AD9665 is limited to 950 mA typical. To reach output currents in the range up to 2 Ampere, could the outputs of 2 or 3 of those chips be put in parallel?

    Question, what are you going to implement? Will the photodiode be a transmitter or a receiver? A block diagram would greatly help.

    Anyway, AD9665 is a 0.8 ns diode driver. Have a look and see if it fits your application.

    Take a look at the AD9665. You can set the output current with a voltage. Refer to Figure 19 and the first paragraph of the Applications section on page 9 of the datasheet.

    You could use AD9665. It has 3 channels that you can parallel (internally) to achieve 800 mA. Please refer to the datasheet for details.
