• AD9520-0 Communication problem.

I am using AD9520-0 clkgen, I am trying to communicate it using SPI.

I have made the following configuration:

    1. I have kept SP0 and SP1 of AD9520 high.
    2. I have kept the pins REF_SEL,RESET,SYNC,PD high and EEPROM low.

I am not able to read…

  • AD9520-0 PLL locking

    Have anyone working on AD9520-0?

I need to lock the PLL. What are the steps to do it?

I am trying it as below but unable to lock it.

The first parameter passed is the address and second is the value written to it.

  • RE: AD9520 Mode0 problem with configuration

    Hi Prakash BJ,

Can you read the value that you have written for the output divider associated with the output that you are viewing?  For example output divider 0 (Reg 0x0190) should be written with a 0xDD.  Writing 0xBB would give you 28MHz outputs assuming…

  • RE: AD9522

    Hi Armen,

A colleague of mine just pointed out that the AD9520-0 is pin compatible with the AD9522 and supports a VCO direct mode. The AD9520's outputs will toggle at 2800 MHz, but will not necessarily meet the VoD datasheet specifications. IT should…

  • RE: AD9520-0 heating up and output frequency gradually decreases.

    Hi Prakash,

It's hard to know where to begin. You need to design a proper loop filter for your application, and use the evaluation software to determine the register settings. Have you done this already?

The evaluation board and tools can be found…

  • RE: Single Ended Output

    Hi Peter,

All of our parts that support CMOS will have single ended outputs. For example the AD9520 supports both LVPECL and CMOS.  When in CMOS mode the AD9520 can have twice as many outputs as when in LVPECL.

  • RE: AD9520 (and equivalent) driven with TCXO

    Hi Alon,

The AD9520 can be driven with a TXCO with either single ended or differential outputs.  The AD9520 provides a self biased receiver so most differential inputs can simply be ac coupled.  Please refer to the PLL reference inputs section of the AD9520…

  • RE: Difference between AD9520-1 and AD9520-5

From a performance perspective, using the AD9520-1 eval kit will be exactly the same if you either bypass the VCO, or replace the AD9520-1 on the EB with an AD9520-5.
