I am using an AD592 in a circuit powered from 5V (of a USB port).  the 5V is connected to AD592 pin 1, then pin 3 of the AD592 to a 10k, 0.05% resistor to ground.

Hi,

What we recommend requires power. Supply 5V to the + pin, place 1k resister at the - pin going to ground and measure the voltage across the resister, as in Figure 4 of the AD592 datasheet, and check if the output tracks.
