I have got a customer who wants to replace an AD7524 by an AD5424. However, in his application, the AD7524 was only used in WRITE mode and /CS was connected to GND. It seems such a functioning is impossible with the AD5424.
Can you provide the schematic of the circuit that you are using? Can you also show a scope shot showing two consecutive frames (increment) and the spike? What is the capacitance value of the compensating capacitor used in your circuit?
There is an alternative circuit, the voltage switching mode, not using negative voltages. Although it is an existing option, we cannot garantee a good performance of the part as there is no characterization data for this configuration.
