"Hello,

I'm evaluating the AD4134 as a candidate ADC for a low-noise measurement we are developing. I managed to get the combination of EVAL-AD4134 and the SDP-H1 evaluation boards working and talking to each other. However, I can only record a maximum of ~100ksamples with the ACE software that ships with the SDP-H1. What I'd like to do is to stream data off the EVAL-AD4134 / SDP-H1 and write it to disk for later processing, can I reconfigure the SDP-H1 to function in this way? I believe USB supports enough bandwidth for me to stream 4 channels of 24-bit data at ~1 MSPS so I don't expect that to be a bottleneck, but ideally, I'd like to use the on-board memory buffer on the SDP-H1 such that I do not suffer any discontinuities. Browsing the forum, I came across this thread but some of the links there are broken, so I figured I'd ask if anyone has had a similar application requirement and managed to get the combination of SDP-H1 and EVAL-AD4134 working.

I am dealing with the common error I have seen on here, which is the board can not be detected.

It is my understanding that the startup of the evaluation software first tries to read a serial number from the EEprom on the AD5421SDZ.

This is the detection process that fails. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times and according to some notes on the FAQ, the drivers for the SDP-B are installed correctly. The device manager indicates that the the SDP-B board is connected to the PC via USB. See screen shot.

I have 24 VDC connected to the J7 connector on the AD5421SDZ board. However, I have no indication if the board is powered on. I would suspect that either the board is not on or the EEprom does not have the serial number required to have the board detected.

Is there an optional way to power the AD5421SDZ board? Is there a way to determine if it is powered on?

It is very disappointing that this is the issue that has to be dealt with before doing any evaluation work.

I have seen responses to others with this similar problem and they are told that there is not any time to deal with SDP-B board issues.

This is not a very good response to customers that are trying to evaluate a part that they may want to use in a design. If you do not have time to assist customers with the boards you have built, well then we do not have time to evaluate your part for our design. This means we move on to another manufacture for the parts that we use in our designs.

Please let me know if you have any positive ideas as to the way to solve this issue.

I just started using the EVAL-AD7616 with the SDP-B controller (EVAL-SDP-CB1Z) on Windows PC. I need to convert 24 analog channels, so I'm planning to use 2x AD7616 to have up to 32 channels.

I would like to use a single master board (i.e., 1x SDP-B) to control at the same time 2x EVAL-AD7616 and acquire data via the evaluation software. First, can I do this? I understand that connectors A and B of the SDP-B share some pins, and there are 3 SPI interfaces. Can I connect 2x EVAL-AD7616 to the same SDP-B evaluation board? Can the software control the two of them?

Hope my questions are clear!

Best,

I just received an EVAL-AD5755-1SDZ and SDP-S to test a DAC I am going to be working with.

I connected the power as shows in the datasheet, supplying the eval board with +/-15V for AVDD and AVSS respectively and 5V to AVCC. When I apply power I see D2 turn on green, see picture.

I also connected the SDP-S to my Windows 11 Laptop and I see PWR is green and LED1 is amber (not sure what this means, the datasheet just says it is for application developers), see picture.

I can see the SDP-S show up in Device Manager as well, see picture.

After all that when I open the AD575X Evaluation Software it says that no matching system is found, see picture.

I have tried to re-install the drivers and the program. Used both the online version and the version that came on the CD in the box. I have tried numerous USB ports and PC restarts.

I am not able to get Windows to recognize this dev board. Any help is appreciated.

We would like to use the AD4134 chip to replace the AD7760 for development and design. However, as we are not very familiar with AD4134, and after referring to some information on your official website and forum, we found that there is still a lack of information about AD4134 communication and FPGA code. If there's a manual that could be supplied, that would be great.
