Issue with EVAL-CN0350 Evaluation Board - Requesting Assistance

Category: Hardware
Product Number: EVAL-CN0350-PMDZ
Software Version: 1.0.0

We are writing to seek assistance regarding an issue we are facing with the EVAL-CN0350-PMDZ Evaluation Board, that we recently purchased. We have been utilizing the following components for our setup:

EVAL-SDP-CB1Z Controller Board (SDP-B Board)
EVAL-CN0350-PMDZ Evaluation Board
EVAL-CFTL-6V-PWRZ (+6V Power Supply) or equivalent
SDP-PMD-IB1Z SDP-to-PMOD interposer board for the testing and characterization of the piezoelectric sensor.
Following the user guide provided, we successfully calibrated the board for a charge of 1000pC. However, when we proceeded to connect our piezoelectric sensor as per the manual's instructions, we encountered an unexpected behavior. Even without any vibration or external stimulus, the interface started displaying charge output.

To troubleshoot the issue, we disconnected the sensor and acquired data again. Surprisingly, the interface continued to show charge output without any connected sensor. This leads us to believe that there may be an underlying problem with the board or the setup.

We would greatly appreciate your guidance in identifying the root cause of this issue and finding a suitable solution. Our team has thoroughly reviewed the user guide and followed the recommended steps, but we have been unable to resolve the problem. We are now turning to you for your expertise and support.

Please let us know if you require any additional information or if there are specific tests or troubleshooting steps we should undertake to diagnose the issue further. We remain committed to working with you to resolve this matter promptly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

  • Hi Krishnal1,

What is the value of the measured charge with no sensor input?

To verify the measured charge output in the software, can you check the maximum voltage at TP5? One way to test the functionality of the board is to apply a 1V amplitude sine wave signal at the input. These should be the measured charge base on the max voltage measured in TP5:

    Sinewave Voltage Amplitude (V)

    1

    Measurement

    LOW

    HIGH

    Maximum Voltage (TP5)

    2.19

    2.31

    Software Coulombs (pC)

    965

    1035

    Best Regards,
