Integration of Eval board AD9084-FMCA-EBZ with PZ-ZU15EG-KFB

Hello,

1) We are exploring the option of Integrating Eval board AD9084-FMCA-EBZ with FPGA Eval Board : ZU15EG-KFB.

We would like to understand will this integration work. Also let us know what could be the challenges in bringing up the board.

The datasheet for FPGA Eval Board -  ZU15EG-KFB can be found in following location;

2) For AD9084 what will be the ENoB and SFDR in S-Band and X-Band, Ths input signal bandwidth for ADC is 100 MHz with sampling rate of 3600 MSPS.

  • 1. AD9084-FMCA-EBZ requires an FMC+ connector and that board is only FMC. AD9084 also has specific lane requirements to reach certain bandwidths. The 8 available will be very limited. This applies to the lane rate as well.

    Regarding your question on ADC performance, we don't publish ENOB, but you could easily calculate it from NSD figures in the data sheet. For example, NSD is -149 dBFS/Hz with ADC clock of 20 GHz, sample rate of 2.5GSPS, and in sequential mode. The noise power integrated over 100MHz bandwidth would be 69 dBFS (-149 + 80), and ENOB in this case would be around 11.17 bits. We don't have number of 3.6 GSPS, but you could probably measure it yourself. Hope this helps and let us know if you need further assistance.
