General RF Front End Matching Methodology

Given the complex impedance presented by the Rx LNA inputs, s-parameter data along with additional documentation is avilable to aid in designing optimized matching to the LNA inputs.

There are three files attached to this FAQ.

The FAQ RF Matching document discusses the basics of differential and single-ended matching.  It can be applied to a variety of matching situations as it discusses matching in general terms in addition to providing specific examples.

The other two zip files contain s-parameter files for the Rx LNA inputs.  Pdf documents in the zip files explain the file naming convention of the s-parameter files and the assumptions made.

The Tx output ports are consistently very close to 50 Ohms resistive.  The recommendation for those ports is to use use components such as baluns that present a 50 Ohm resiistance over the band of interest.  If 50 Ohms is not possible, a matching network should be used such that the Tx output port always sees a 50 Ohm resistive load presented to it.
