AD9364 internal temperature sensor scale factor

There is a discrepancy between the temperature sensor scaling value in the AD9364 register map reference manual (UG-672) and the AD9364 reference manual (UG-673).

In UG-672, on page 8, the temperature sensor scaling value is listed as 1.16 lsb/degC

In UG-673, on page 80, the temperature sensor scaling value is listed as 1.14 lsb/degC

Which is correct?

  • The value will vary some based on the state and configuration. You can use 1.14. The measured temperature is not used by the device. It is there to be used by the device user. If you want an accurate absolute reading carry out a factory calibration and correlate the temperature sensor reading to a known temperature value in your system.

  • I believe this statement from the reply is not correct (at least for the AD9361):

"The measured temperature is not used by the device"

The TPM feature has a temperature coefficient (programmed into register 0x06F). This provides linear temperature compensation based on some temperature measurement, presumably by the internal sensor.

    Thanks, Yaron

  • Measured temperature is not used by the device internally to compensate gain for TPM feature.

It has to be done while system integration if required.
