Hello, everyone! I want to try to make my own spectrum analyzer using AD9361 and STM32 microcontroller. I bought a board AD-FMCOMMS3-EBZ. Is it possible to control band scanning with SPI or do I need more pins besides SPI? Or will I need an FPGA to control it anyway?
FMCOMMS3 board is supported only with the below FPGA boards. We donot recommend configuring using register writes. Refer to the below links, for steps on bringup:

If I use FMC Breakout Board and connect to the SPI ports, will my project be possible?
Yes, you can do that and bringup the board using SPI writes. But as mentioned it is not recommended., as SPI sequences are prone to errors. It is recommended to use either Linux/no-Os drivers for configuring the chip.
