I am trying to find a way to reduce the boot up time for ADRV9029.
Question1. can I use precalibrated file(factory calibration or golden file) and skip the calibration procedure?
Question2. If I use a fixed frequency for single band without calibration, how much I can save the boot up time?
AI said I can make < 2 second in my condition, please advise me if it is doable.
------ AI --------
- Boot the ADRV9029 normally at its assigned fixed single frequency.
- Run the full initial calibration bitmask via
adi_adrv9025_RunInitCals. - Use the API to read the internal memory containing the computed QEC, LOL, and internal delay structures.
- Save this board-specific binary payload into the host controller’s non-volatile flash memory.
[ 1. Power & Hardware Reset ] (<5 ms) └── Stabilize the 4 voltage rails (VDIG_1P0 first) and toggle the RESETB pin. [ 2. Fast SPI Load: Standard Firmware Only ] (~1 sec) └── Flash ONLY 'ADRV9025_FW.bin' (ARM-C) over SPI at max 25 MHz clock. (Skipping the massive DPD binary eliminates significant transfer overhead). [ 3. Multi-Chip Sync & JESD204 Link ] (<100 ms) └── Configure SerDes lanes, set lane rates, and align sysref. [ 4. Inject Saved Calibration Payload ] (~100 ms) └── Directly write the board-specific pre-calibrated file into the ARM memory. (Completely Bypasses the 60+ second adi_adrv9025_RunInitCals calculation). [ 5. Enable Signal Paths & Tracking Cals ] (<10 ms) └── Turn on the active Tx/Rx channels and immediately enable Tracking Calibrations. [ 6. Radio Transmit Ready ]
Thanks!
