connector for ORx

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADRV9029

Hello, I am working with the ADRV9029 and I have a few questions regarding the design of a custom FMC board.

1- Connector for ORX:

I have noticed that some boards do not include the ORX connectors at all. If an external ORX connector is not included on the board and the calibration that typically requires an external feedback path is not performed, could this lead to significant issues in system performance?

2- Using a Switch to Reduce ORX Connectors:

If I replace the 4 ORX connectors with only 2 connectors and use a switch to select between them, what potential issues could arise? What type of switch would you recommend for this setup?

3- ORX Connector Type for Industrial Applications:

For industrial applications, would UFL connectors be suitable for ORX connections, or is there a better connector type recommended for these scenarios?

Best regards.

  • 1A) Which boards are you talking about? I dont think the ORX connectors are missing from the ADRV EVB board.

Feedback path is required for LOL and DPD cals. Please check UG1727.

2A) Please check UG1727, we have given details about 4T4R4ORX, 4T4R2ORX and 4T4R1ORX as well

Any general purpose RF switch with good isolation should be fine.

3A) Please check with the connector vendors.
