DPD Enabling in ADRV9002 transceiver

Category: Software
Product Number: ADRV9002

Hi,

I'm trying to enable DPD(Digital Predistortion) in ARDV9002 transceiver. For this i'm using Transceiver evaluation software (TES) as a GUI, ZCU102 eval board.
To enable DPD and analyze the waveform i'm following the below set of steps give in a doc. Also in the file section of a GUI i'm uploading a taxidi file under load session section. But i 'm not getting a desired result after doing so.
Here i'm attaching a doc containing the sets of steps and also the taxidi file that i'm uploading.
Kindly look into it and suggest if any correction or modifications  required.

  • Hi Anurag,

I noticed that you are using MUX as the FH mode, but in AutoTDD you are referencing the Dual HOP mode timing diagram. Could you please review this section?

I would also suggest the following steps:

    1) Avoid loading the previous version of the Taxidi file. Please reconfigure TES manually with the required settings.

    2) Have you checked the peak power at the ORx port? The ORx attenuation is triggered based on this value, which can impact DPD performance. I assume you have used the provided Python script to obtain the path delay value.

    3) Capture the signal without DPD and review the gain vs. input signal plot to determine the PA compression. We recommend compressing by approximately 1 dB.

My recommendation would be to start implementing DPD in defined carrier mode rather than FH mode. Once DPD is working for the desired signal power and settings, you can proceed to FH mode. Please ensure you are familiar with FH mode before enabling DPD.
    Regards
