Absolute Maximum Ratings

Thread Summary

The user asked for clarification on the '30 dB of Attenuation from Maximum Gain' in the ADRV9003 Absolute Maximum Ratings. The final answer confirmed that the ADRV9003 has an analog front-end attenuation range of 0-34dB and can control external LNA attenuation up to 29dB. The 30dB in the ratings refers to the analog attenuation, not digital.

I need some clarifications about the ADRV9003 Absolute Maximum Ratings:

In Table 13, one of the columns under Lifetime has the heading, "30 dB of Attenuation from Maximum Gain." Is there 30dB of analog attenuation internally? If so, then I understand it and can proceed with my analysis.

If not, then it is unclear how to proceed: If the 30dB includes external attenuation that the AGC may be set up to control, then this attenuation would affect the input power levels in the left column. And If the 30dB includes digital attenuation that the AGC may be set up to control, then it would have no affect on the lifetime.

  • Hi,

The analog front end attenuation is between the range of 0-34dB as mentioned in our user guide. Please have a look at the section ANALOG FRONT-END COMPONENTS in our user guide.

In addition to that the device is also capable of controlling the external LNA with the maximum attenuation of 29dB.

Please have a look at the section RECEIVER GAIN CONTROL in our userguide.

    Regards
