External LNA with AGC

Hi,

What is the maximum external LNA gain that can be supported by the AGC table? I found two conflicting information.

Here I see that it can support up to 3 LNA with each LNA up to 29dB gain, total of 87dB of external gain:

In the ADRV9002 user guide UG-1828, in Receiver Gain Control section, it states that the N+M+L should not exceed 29dB:

Can I get clarification on this?

    The EngineerZone article that you quoted was written to explain some newly added functionality. The user guide is currently in the process of being updated to include this new information. You can take the article as being correct, though there is a known issue with the timing that we're aiming to fix in SDK 0.26.

    Thanks for the response. So with this newly added feature, Navassa AGC can control up to 87dB of external attenuation/gain instead of 29dB as the current user guide specifies? Meaning, the gain table can accommodate this extra 87dB and there will be more AGPIO pins used with this?

    Yes, the gain table can accommodate this extra 87 dB, but there are no additional AGPIO pins used with this. You can configure this at the bottom of the Board Configuration tab on the left of the TES:
