External LNA with AGC

Thread Summary

The user inquired about the maximum external LNA gain supported by the AGC table in ADRV9002, noting conflicting information. The support engineer confirmed that the gain table can support up to 87 dB of external gain, as described in the EngineerZone article, and that this is not limited to 29 dB as stated in the current user guide. The configuration can be set in the Board Configuration tab of the TES without requiring additional AGPIO pins.

Hi,

What is the maximum external LNA gain that can be supported by the AGC table? I found two conflicting information.

Here I see that it can support up to 3 LNA with each LNA up to 29dB gain, total of 87dB of external gain:

In the ADRV9002 user guide UG-1828, in Receiver Gain Control section, it states that the N+M+L should not exceed 29dB:

Can I get clarification on this?

Thanks,

Akiko
