Initial calibration/startup issues

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD9371

After boot we occasionally measures bad "RF-performance".

In production we have a BER-test used to test at a number of frequencies (channels). Sometimes (rarely) we experience "bad" startups, measured as too high BER in some regions of the spectrum. When rerunning Init-cal, we are back at he expected level.

We have tried to boot in harder ESD environment and the probability of "bad" startup increases, measured by BER.

The real problem is we also see this out of lab, where the ESD environment is not under control. We see similar bad startups if a strong signal in the band of interest are present during startup.

To mitigate this we have put in RF switches to provide additional RF-isolation during startup. We can not guarantee that the incoming signals are below the recommended level during startup, nor can we guarantee the ESD environment.

We believe it has to do with the init - calibrations (have worked with the AD9371 for +5 years!).

We urgently need a way to detect the "bad" startup. We have no TX in the design. Is it possible to read out calibration data / settled parameters  ?

- in case, then we maybe can detect a "bad" startup and  rerun init-calibration... We are under time pressure, so any suggestion is highly appreciated.
