Test PIN J6 left floating in design, will AD9375 still be working?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD9375

Hi

we have an issue with running AD9375 on new PCB design. We carelessly left J6 pin floating in design and we can't have any output from SDO line of SPI interface. We have checked already power supplies, clocks and SPI signals and everything looks ok. Is it possible that floating J6 pin is causing that AD9375 is not responding on SPI interface? SDO line is  always following levels of CSB:

Kind regards!

  • J6 Test pin is used for enabling and disabling the JTAG.

Are you able to readback the Product ID of AD9375? Are you able to write and readback from the scratch pad register (0xA)?

What is the SPI speed configured with, try using a lower SPI speed.

Are you configuring SPI in 3 wire mode or 4 wire mode? Hope you are disabling the SPI streaming mode.

Are you able to communicate to the clock chip, AD9528?

Please make sure the reset, all the power supplies and ref clk signals are proper.

  • Hi,

im not able to read product id or scratch register,

SPI speed is configured at low speed of 300kbps

SPI is in four wire mode

    SPI streaming mode is disabled

i noticed that there is CLOCK at GPIO_18 generated by AD9375 so i guess that TRX is in JTAG MODE?
