High Noise floor in AD9371

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD9371
Software Version: No-OS version

I am using AD9371 on our custom board. We are using MYKONOS library for configuration of AD9371 and AD9528. We have configured the JESD Loopback. We are not using FPGA.

But when we configure the AD9371 after proper calibration we are receiving high Noise Floor.  We are giving -20 dBm CW tone. This is the condition when we are feeding the modulated signal also.

What we are missing here?

    1. With internal TX NCO tone, are you seeing this issue after radio ON?
    2. Can you try with the below profile. Generate the config files for the below profile and use them in their setup.
    3. Are they feeding the signal directly at the RX RF input, or they have gain stages at the RX RF front end? Can they feed the signal directly at the RX RF input and check the TX output at TX RF output?
    4. Can they share with us the Deframer and the Framer status?
    5. Is this issue seen on all the RX1 and RX2 channels.
  • Hello,

    Here are our observation

    1. The output of TX NCO is looking fine we have configured both TX1(61.44) and TX2(30.72) NCO at different offset and it is coming on that.
    2. We have tried your said configuration and the NOISE FLOOR is still high in that.
    1. We are feeding the signal to RX and monitoring at TX. There are no gain stages at RF RX front end.
    2. Framer Status is 0x3E and deframer status is 0x28.
    3. This Issue is on both RX1 and RX2 side.
    4. Plots are attached for your reference.
    5. Yes, for 50 MHz configuration we have used Filter Wizard.
