How to connect the MAX2623 exposed pad?

Although not directly stated in the datasheet the exposed pad of the MAX2623 TSOP package variants should be connected to ground.

You can always use any of our reference designs or evaluation kits available as a suitable reference for layout recommendations. Below is the layout of the MAX2623 evaluation kit as you can see the EP is mounted directly onto the GND plane.
