I would like to use the Hittite component HMC542BLP4E (0.5 dB LSB GaAs MMIC
6-BIT DIGITAL SERIAL CONTROL ATTENUATOR, DC - 4 GHz) for a bidirectional
application. In the datasheet they refer to input and output (input and output
return loss) giving the impression that the device would be unidirectional.
Can the part be applied for a bidirectional applications?

HMC542BLP4E has a bi-directional RF input which can be applied at the Attn in
or output ports.
