AD9082 Reset Timing

Thread Summary

The user inquired about the reset timing for the AD9082, as the no-OS API function adi_ad9081_device_reset() has a long reset sequence. The support engineer provided the reset timing information from the AD9081 datasheet, noting that the AD9082 datasheet lacks this detail. The reset-to-ready time for the AD9082 is not specified and must be characterized in the user's system.

Hello,

We are using the no-OS library and have good JESD links.   The DAC and ADC are working fine.   We have a boot time requirement we are trying to meet, and the no-OS API function adi_ad9081_device_reset() the reset sequency is quite long:

#define AD9081_API_HW_RESET_LOW 600000
#define AD9081_API_RESET_WAIT 500000
I searched through the UG and datasheet but could not find any reset pin timing information.   My apologies if I just missed it.   Is there any reset timing information available for the AD9082?
Thanks! and best regards,
Mark Carlin

  • Hi Mark,

    The minimum RESETB hold time required to trigger a device reset is specified in Table 18 of the AD9081 datasheet. It appears that this information was inadvertently omitted from the AD9082 datasheet.

    If you are looking for the reset-to-ready time, that parameter is not specified in the datasheet/userguide and would need to be characterized and validated within your specific system environment.

    Please let me know if you have any questions.
