Log Amp Recommendation?

I am looking for a log amp for an application that is not really addressed in the ADI data sheets. My input signal is a baseband Gaussian pulse with a FWHM of about 4ns and low duty cycle. There are log amps that have enough input bandwidth to handle this but the problem is that the RSSI video out bandwidthis are very low-- even with no filter capacitor.

I need a wide dynamic range and a very low noise input would be highly desirable. I just need to compress the pulse ( take the log of the input waveform) and the desired output is that of the compressed waveform.

Can you recommend a product? We have used your AD641 in the past for 10ns pulses but the price has increased to hundreds of dollars according to your website.

Which model of AD641 are you using? the 20 ld plastic dip pkg is available for  $36.31 in quantities of 100 - 499. (AD641ANZ)

The AD8317, AD8318, AD8319 might work. They have the dynamic range and video bandwith.
