ADL5801 - IFoutput Transformer

In the Eval board schematics of ADL5801, the IFout transformer's output and inputs are interchanged.

ie., IFON and IFOP are interchanged. Does'nt it affect the system because it causes phase change at the output?

  • Figure 97 on the datasheet represents the stock configuration for the eval board. In this configuration, the IF outputs are configured to be driven single ended using a RF balun, so only one of the two ports is being driven. The orientation of the ports depends on the pin out configuration of the balun. If the outputs will be driven differentially, then the positive and negative ports of the output should be aligned with the device pins. Hope that clears the confusion.
