Dynamic Range of AD8367

Hi,

I want to use AD8367 as a VGA for 0 to 70dB dynamic range but its gain is upto 45dB. So how to increase it?

  • Hi J S Hyanki,

You can use the AD8309 in an AGC loop, much like what is shown in the AD8367 datasheet and the attached paper above (or you can you an AD8361 as shown in both).  What did you like about the AD8309 that made you choose it?

If you don't want to use an extra op-amp integrator, I think you could use the AD8314, which has a negative slope output you can connect directly to the gain pin of the VGA.

    Hope this helps,

    Joel
