ADISIMPLL problem

Dear All,

I had use the ADISIMPLL which version is 3.50 and meet a problem as below.

Problem:

If I choose the chip is ADF4360-7 and output frequency  set  to sweep at 1.2G~1.7GHz and why the software shows the "PLL Frequency range out of ADF4360-7 VCO range"?

The ADF4360-7 seems to support on 350MHz ~ 1800MHz and what's wrong with it ?

Could you please help me to solve this problem , tks!

  • The VCO in the ADF4360-7 can only cover a frequency range with Fmax/Fmin < 1.2. The exact centre frequency is set using Lext.  So whilst the ADF4360-7 can be used over the entire frequency range, any individual design cannot cover a frequency range with Fmax/Fmin > 1.2.

    See datasheet:

    P4: VCO Frequency Range    max = 1.2

P22: Choosing the Correct Inductor Value
