AD5331 GAIN SLOPE

Hi all

I have a question about Fig.6 of ADL5331 datasheet.

The value of slope is nearly 0mV/dB over 100MHz in Fig.6.

But I can see 39.5mV/dB as the value of Gain control slope at 400MHz in Table 1.

Is something incorrect included in these value ?

Please tell me the meaning of Fig.6.

Best Regards,

  • Hi Kris,

Hmm, no excuses here, Figure 6 is all wrong. There's nothing correct in either the vertical or horizontal scales. The only thing I can think of is that figure 6 was done on early silicon and not updated with final silicon. I was responsible for the datasheet so will fall on my sword for that one. It may be some time before we get fig 6 fixed, although I may just remove it. In the meantime, if you look at the tables on page 3, you can see that the gain control slope changes from 40mV/dB at 100MHz to 37mV/dB at 900MHz. Do you need the gain control slope at a higher RF frequency?

Can you tell me more about the application? Is there anything else I can do to help you with this app?
