AD5331 GAIN SLOPE

Hi all

I have a question about Fig.6 of ADL5331 datasheet.

The value of slope is nearly 0mV/dB over 100MHz in Fig.6.

But I can see 39.5mV/dB as the value of Gain control slope at 400MHz in Table 1.

Is something incorrect included in these value ?

Please tell me the meaning of Fig.6.

Best Regards,

  • Hi,

I moved your question to the RF Components community. Someone here should be able to assist you.

    Thanks!

    Kris

  • Hi Kris, Steve

Thank you for your quick reply. You have been very helpful.
    This question is my customer's.
It seems that he don't need more data of the gain slope. Your comment has satisfied his request.
I will try to interview him about the application as he has not told me about his work yet.

Excuse me. I have mistaken this title.  ADL5331 is correct.

    Best Regard,

  • Hi Kris,

Hmm, no excuses here, Figure 6 is all wrong. There's nothing correct in either the vertical or horizontal scales. The only thing I can think of is that figure 6 was done on early silicon and not updated with final silicon. I was responsible for the datasheet so will fall on my sword for that one. It may be some time before we get fig 6 fixed, although I may just remove it. In the meantime, if you look at the tables on page 3, you can see that the gain control slope changes from 40mV/dB at 100MHz to 37mV/dB at 900MHz. Do you need the gain control slope at a higher RF frequency?

Can you tell me more about the application? Is there anything else I can do to help you with this app?

    Steve
