HMC986 DC Block

Question

Hi all, 
 Looking through the datasheet for this component shows that it is DC coupled. I am planning on connecting several of these back to back. Will I need to worry about having a DC blocking capacitor in between each switch or is this not necessary? 
 There will not be any DC MMIC bias anywhere on the RF line. 
 Another concern is that I received this email from cic.asia@analog.com when I queried the HMC986: 
 "HMC986 is not recommended for new design." 
 
 Could someone please elaborate as to why this is? 
 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, 
 The RF ports of the HMC986 are dc coupled with ~0Vdc. Since the RF ports have the same line potential, HMC986 parts can be interconnected/cascaded directly without dc blocking cap. 
 HMC986 is not recommended for new designs and it will eventually be obsolete due to foundry/process discontinuation. Last Time Buy Date for HMC986 and availability of a new functional/drop-in replacement product will be offered with a PCN in the following weeks.
