I want to use HMC311ST89 to amplify the RZ signal like the data rate is 5Gbps and the Periodic code type is "1000" ,whether it is feasible?
Looking forward to your soonest reply!
Thank you!

Hi mr.all,
Since your signal type is RZ, the low freq cut off will not play a crucial role. Even with NRZ 1000, the low freq cutoff goes to 2.5 MHz, which will not be a problem for HMC311ST89.
Assuming 1000 is not binary, if you meant binary 1000, then low freq will be higher; hence easier implementation.
HMC311ST89 can operate up to 6 GHz, so 2.5 - 3 GHz will not be a problem.
As it is seen on the `Recommended Component Values` section on the DS, you may need to use a wideband RF choke inductor to cover 1 MHz -3 GHz range. Which means using a conical inductor or multiple inductors is series.
As long as the performance parameters like gain flatness, etc. on the DS meets your requirements, there will not be any problems.
Best,
Kagan
