Hi,
I have a perhaps very easy question. Is the Mixer HMC1063LP3E unidirectional so useable as Up- and also as Down- Converter ?
Kind regards
Sebastian

HMC1063 can be used for both upconversion and downconversion. Please see page 6 of datasheet for upconversion performance.
Then another question on this Topic on page 4 the Title is
Data Taken as SSB Downconverter
and the graphic in row 1 column 1 shows the
Upconverter Performance, Conversion Gain, LSB vs. LO Drive
What dows this mean ? what is the difference to page 2 also title
Data Taken as SSB Downconverter
graphic row 1 column 2
Conversion Gain, LSB vs. LO Drive
?
How can the Upconverter Performance be measured in Downcoverter mode ?
Isn't the Conversion gain g = 10 * log (Pout/Pin) ?
I hope you get what I want to ask.
Kind regards
The plots that specifically indicate upconversion in the title are indeed upconversion results. It would have been better if we had grouped the upconversion plots together rather than mixing with downconversion plots. I will put in a request to revise this in future revisions of the datasheet.
Thx for catching this. I'll admit it is a little confusing.
