ADL5801 as upconverting mixer

Greetings


I'd like to use ADL5801 as upconverting mixer. I'd like to move RF frequency 100 MHz to range from 100 MHz to 6 GHz. How should I properly connect signals to ADL? I've got 100 MHz and PLL, that provides me required range.

    Hi, Anton,

        To upconvert a 100 MHz signal to a higher frequency, use the basic connections shown in Fig. 96 on p. 31 of the datasheet.  RF port is always the input and IF port is always the output, and apply an LO signal with frequency equal to Fout +/- Fin.  Since the IF bandwidth is about 600 MHz, the IF port must be impedance matched for output frequencies about or above 600 MHz using the network similar to that shown in Fig. 100 on p. 32.  Example component values are provided for 900 & 2140 MHz in Table 8.
