ADRF6658 vs ADL5801


In the frame of my project I am considering the use of different mixer to make the acquisition of a RF signal of 1.5GHz an down convert it to 10 or 20MHz.
The RF input level is low around -60dBm.

As far as I check the datasheet of the ADRF6658 and ADL5801 this should be ok

my concern is on the down convertion of the ADRF6658 is it suitable to down convert down to 20MHz using the correct LO frequency?

SinceI have to amplify the IF signal to input an ADC my first choice is the ADRF6658.

The ADL5801 fit the range of the down conversion frequency but wil require an extra amplifier.

which active mixer do you advise for this range of application?

    Hi, xvt4,

        Both mixers can downconvert the signal described with flat response.  The gain of the IF amplifier starts to peak up below around 30 MHz, the extent of which depends on the pull-up inductors and DC block capacitors.  It may take some experimentation to obtain desired frequency flatness below 30 MHz.
