Two question about the HMC733 10-20GHz VCO ?

 - What is the perenity of this component, as there is no HMC733A version on the website ?

- Does it exist a divider by two up to 20 GHz, instead of HMC447 ? I would like the larger comparison frequency for better noise phase performance.

Have a nice day,

    Hi Olivier,

The HMC733 was NOT discontinued and is still available on the website therefore there should not be an HMC733A.

"A" designation is typically used for devices for which the foundry process is no longer available and the original design required translation to another process.

The HMC447 is the only one that plays to 20GHz and beyond. Alternatively you could consider one of our flip-flops but this will require additional work.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Marty,

    thank you for your message.

Do you think the HMC733 can provide frequencies up to 20.5 GHz ? The datasheet looks giving some margin.

The additionnal work with flip-flop product (HMC749 for example ?) concerns impedance matching with balanced/unbalanced transition ?

    Best Regards
