HMC7992 in 4Ch. RFID Reader

Dear ADIer

My customer is testing HMC7992 in 4Ch. RFID Reader.

2 Channels(ANT2, ANT3)  work well. But the other 2 Channel shows 0.5dB less output power and half of sensitivity.

When I try to connect SMA connector witin same pattern length, I cannot find any difference among each channel.

Is there any root cause for this issue or any missing for PCB design?

One more question is

My customer is using RF5110G(RFMD) as a RF Power amp in this project.

And she faced themal issues on it when she drive RF AMP continuously.

Could you recommend the substitute of RF5110G?

How about HMC453? I will be appreciated if you recommend more cost effective RF AMP for RFID(920MHz)...

Thanks

  • Dear Sir.

The transmisison lines will not be  exactly same with each other because the distance between mux. input and antenna. is not same too as you can see.

My customer application is to used RSSI from each 4 antenna. So same received RF Power is stronly required.

Should I place the SMA connector on the PCB Board not the edge of PCB to get the same distance between Mux input and Antenna?
