In the Absolute Max. Rating specs, the HMC392ALC4 is given for a max. RF input power of +20dBm with VDD=5Vcc. I would like to know the maximum RF input power if the LNA has no DC power supply.
More precisely, can the HMC392ALC4 handle at its input:
- an RF pulse of 10dBm <10us
- a continuous RF power of -5dBm
We have not characterized the max RF Pin AMR when the amplifier is not biased. So we cannot make a commitment to a value without testing.
That being said, In general GaAs amplifier like HMC392A can handle more RF input power levels when they are fully unbiased. So, 10dBm pulse or -5dBm CW should not be any issue.
