Design for 10GHz FMCW

Hello,

I’m going to design a radar FMCW for 10GHz.

For the transmission side  I think to use the ADF4159  and as VCO the HMC1162.

I would like your suggestion for the receiving side.

What is the best component to use as 10GHz receiver downconverter for FMCW?

In rx side, can I use the component ADF5904 ? .

For  LO input I use the clock coming from the transmission side.

Please , can I have some your opinion about this my idea ?.

    Hello Piero,

    The ADF5904 LO / RF range is limited to 24GHz to 25.25GHz ( for 24GHz radar ), what frequency range/ bandwidth do you require?

    Hello Piero,

    Outside of the ADF5904 I don't know of a dedicated rx chip for radar, can you let me know the required signal bandwidth and sweep frequencies. Regards Brigid.

    With this choice the signal bandwidth and sweep frequencies are those

    contemplated and available from the use of the ADF4159 component.

    In the worst case, you can  consider the limit values envisaged by the

    ADF4159 component.

    Regarding the component ADF5904 if I use for the convertion the 10GHz

    signal coming from the transmission side are you sure that the

    conversion section does not works correctly?

    If it is impossible to use the component ADF5904  can you suggest me the

    best Analog Devices component to use as 10GHz receiver downconverter for

    FMCW?

    I'd like to know if there is in Analog Devices a VCO similar to HMC1162

    but with a dedicated output buffer for 10GHz local oscillator (LO)  to

    use for LO_IN relative to  receiver downconverter.
