Hi, everyone. Why a big step is designed at the IF port, which I marked using a red arrow? I think big strip width change means poor impedance matching. I don't know the reason of this design. Is there anyone can give me some advice or some paper about this?
We use this matching network on the IF trace of multi layer eval boards to increase the performance of the SMA connector to 15+GHz.
What does this mean?
It says the mixer works between 3-10GHz in the datasheet.
And how is it a matching network?
