Hi, I need to switch an Iridium satellite transceiver between two identical passive antennas. The Iridium transceiver has the following specifications:
Operating Frequency: 1616 to 1626.5 MHz
Average Power during Transmission (Max): 38.45 dBm
Peak transient Power during Transmission (Max): 40 dBm
Transceiver Receive Sensitivity at 50Ohm: –118 dBm
Impedance: 50 ohm
So I am looking at a reflective SPDT switch, something similar to the ADG919 that can handle the power input (40 dBm) and ideally powered from a standard 5 or 3.3 VDC supply. I also prefer that the deselected port is shunted to ground although open circuit is ok….any thoughts please ?
Unfortunately all of our ADG9xx parts can't handle input power more than 16 dBm. You can try ADRF5132, it's SPDT reflective switch operational from 0.7GHz to 5GHz and can handle input power up to 42.5 dBm (typ).

The ADRF5132 switches the common port (RF1) from RF2 to ground. So this would not be suitable for me as I need to switch the common port between two antenna feeds. However it looks like the ADRF5130 would work ?....Unless I am missing something regarding the ADRF5132 switch..
Yes ADRF5130 should resolve your problem. Can you please make sure to put DC blocking cap on all the RF pins for correct switch operation.

I have another question...We purchased the ADRF5130-EVALZ board and are wondering what the THRU CAL tracks with SMA pcb pads is used for ?....Is there any technical/reference design documentation on this board ?
