Under what operating conditions does the SC1894A a frequency sweep?

Category: Software
Product Number: SC1894
Software Version: 4.1.01.01

Dear ADI engineer zone,

Under what operating conditions does the SC1894A a frequency sweep? Could you clarify what those conditions are?

We would appreciate your guidance on the expected behavior and any recommendations for preventing unexpected sweep operations during Track mode.

During normal operation in Track mode, where the following parameters remain fixed : RF_IN, RF_FB, Input signal level, Input source frequency. Please refer to the detailed test condition below.

1.) Part#: SC1894A-13

2.) Firmware Version: 4.1.01.01

3.) Input Signal Conditions:

 a. Test Equipment: E4438C

 b. Signal Generator: LTE ETM31, 20 MHz, PAR 8.0 dB

 c. Frequency Range: 2240 MHz to 2300 MHz (60 MHz bandwidth)

 d. Only a 20 MHz signal within this frequency range is used during operation.

4.) Symptom Description

 a. During initial operation, the APD performs a frequency sweep to identify the signal bandwidth and center frequency. After this process, cancellation starts as expected.

 b. After cancellation is completed and the SC1894A transitions into Track mode, the APD unexpectedly performs another frequency sweep.

 c. This behavior occurs intermittently and randomly, depending on the unit. The time to occurrence varies widely, from approximately 10 minutes, 1 hour, up to one full day after operation begins and this symptom has been observed on all units

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
