unable to Callibrate SC1894 across the bandwidth (2300MHz to 2700MHz)

Thread Summary

The user is experiencing issues with the SC1894A-2400 board not applying correction across the 2300MHz to 2700MHz bandwidth. The support engineer suggests that the device must be calibrated for each specific frequency within the range, and mentions the 'smooth mode' calibration for two-frequency calibration as described in the SPI programming guide. The engineer will verify this and provide further guidance.

Dear Team,

I am operating in 2300MHz -2700MHz BW  and trying to use the SC1894A-2400 board for the purpose. But the board is not applying correction across the bandwidth. If I callibrate it at 2700 MHz , it doesn't apply the correction at 2300MHz and vice-versa. Even the centre frequency callibration isn't helping. It is only working for 50MHz BW give and take.
Can you please help ?

Thanks and Regards
Jalaj

  • Hi Jalaj,

I need to check with a colleague who knows this part better than me but my sense is that the device must be calibrated on a per-frequency basis. In the SPI programming guide on page 62, they talk about so-called “smooth mode” calibration which allows two-frequency calibration.  That suggests to me that the part must be calibrated for all intended operating frequencies. But I'll check in this and will get back to you. - Eamon

  • Hi  ,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I am not sure that it stores the coefficients on a per memory basis.
Also, I would like to add that once I change the frequency after callibration, resetting it helps(disable and then enable again) and it starts working for that frequency .
Appreciate your support on this, thanks again
