Phase noise vs PFD frequency

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: ADF4382

Hello,

First of all, congratulations on the phenomenal phase noise specs of your new ADF4382 PLL!

My question: Do you have any data showing the Phase Noise, at any fixed output frequency, as a function of the PFD frequency?

The reason I ask is because all of the phase noise plots in the data sheet are done with a PFD frequency of 500 MHz. Assuming the Reference Frequency doubler is used (and please tell us if that was the case), that would mean using a 250 MHz Reference. What degradation in the phase noise should I expect if a 100 MHz Reference is used, and doubled, so that the PFD frequency is 200 MHz? Let's assume the phase noise of the Reference is normalized out meaning the 100 MHz reference noise is ~8 dB lower for all offsets less than 1 MHz?

Thank you,

Tony
