Is the MAX2014 a suitable alternative to the AD8313? Are there other lower cost alternatives that might make sense?
Comparing the datasheets for the AD8313 and MAX2014, one sees they are very similar devices. Both provide about 70dB of
dynamic range. The accuracy is similar for both devices at around +/- 1dB. The MAX2014 is a little slower in responding to
changes in the input power with a specified response time of 150 ns vs 40 ns for the AD8313. Both devices have pretty much
the same architecture and include a low-power shutdown mode, and a controller mode allowing use in an AGC loop. You would need
to review the detailed specifications to confirm that any spec differences would not be a concern for your system design. If you
don't require 70dB of dynamic range and can live with 45dB, the MAX9930 family could be an alternative.
