Decoupling Capacitors

Question

Hi, 
 In the ADF5356 datasheet figure 53 is ment to show the required connections for the power supplies. Does this include the decoupling capacitors? The ADF5356 evaluation board has much more capacitors on every power supply pin whereas there are only some drawn in the datasheet. Thanks in advance.

The Evaluation Board schematic is designed to reduce the power supply noise as much as possible because the board does not have a metallic enclosure and is generally tested on a bench. You can assume the Figure 53 schematic as a minimum to operate the chip and the EVAL schematic as recommended for the environmental and power supply noise risk. If you have a good supply structure and mechanical isolation for the chip, you can reduce the capacitors, but I recommend following the EVAL.
