Inquire about frequency divider HMC705

Yes the HMC705 is an option to use. Alternatively, the HMC394 may be of interest. This is a reduced frequency range but will still work with 100MHz input frequency.

When you say barely do you mean just the part itself? You would need to purchase an eval kit (listed in the product pages of both devices). With this you can connect an external signal in order to divide.

One extra question. The datasheet says the min input frequency is 100MHz. which is exactly my case. Will this influnce much?

I am looking into the use of the HMC705 also, and as use as a clock divider. In my scenario, I have a 100MHz OCXO, that provides REF to a 6GHz PLDRO. My use case is to divide this 6GHz to 1GHz which will then be used as 1GHz REF for the AD9912 DDS. Would you advise this type of configuration? Kindly see attached image.

Though this may not be totally related, but is the output of the HMC705 very suitable to be a reference for a DSS given that this output has a duty cycle of around 66% and not perfectly a sine wave? What could go wrong?
