1. CN0566 EVK Board is Developed X Band, Tx Antenna used Vivaldi 10.5GHz shall we make it 14GHz? what are the steps involved while developing the Antenna.
2. CN0566 EVK Rx Band Width 10 to 11GHz, Instead of Centre Frequency 10.5GHz Can we convert it into 14GHz? is there any modification Required?
3. With this EVK what distance will it capture?

  • You could operate it at 14 GHz by changing out the LPF and BPF filters.  There should be other footprint compatible filters from MiniCircuits that will suppress the lower image and allow through the upper image.   So look through this paper, and make the necessary changes:  https://www.analog.com/media/en/reference-design-documentation/reference-designs/cn0566.pdf

    1.  Yes, you can connect up a different transmit antenna for 14 GHz

    2.  The integrated phased array antenna panel only operates between about 10 and 11 GHz.  However, you can solder in SMP connectors and then use SMP cables to connect up to your own 14 GHz phased array antenna.  

    3.  Do you mean comms receive, or radar receive?  Many factors impact the range.  You would have to run an analysis for your signals and setup--perhaps using the Matlab radar toolkit, etc.

    Today Matlab to Python shifted the code while Converting the process unable to connect the SDR ( SDR Blue Light Continually Glow, Not blinking ), Even the Pluto SDR folder is not visible in File Explorer, Could you please support what is the root cause, here are the pics for your immediate understanding.

    CN0566 EVK Phaser Board Detection is successful up to 100 meters but while testing we are experiencing latency of 3 sec ( Delay ) Detecting the object in GUI.


    Present this EVK is using the Raspberry Pi4 board instead of that can we use Raspberry Pi5, to minimize the latency or Delay? What are the Challenges of upgrading to Raspberry Pi5 Could you please confirm in this regard?


    If not upgrading to Raspberry Pi5 Board, what are other ways to reduce the latency or delay in object detection?

  • We are working on a new device tree to be able to use the Rasp Pi 5, but it will not be ready for a few months.  However, it will be much faster to not use the raspberry pi.  Instead, connect Pluto to your computer, and connect ethernet from computer to the Phaser's Rasp Pi 4.  Then, run Python/Matlab on your computer.

    Even so, there will be some delay.  In a real radar system, the processing is handled by an FPGA or DSP chip.  Phaser is meant only for education and exploration purposes, not for real time radar use.

Hence, we request you to help us with schematic, design file, antenna related file and Gerber file for the mentioned project. Just to avoid any further confusion  I am attaching the screenshot of the board we are talking about.
